Governor Bev Perdue stunned NC Democrats on Thursday, January 26th when she announced that she will not seek re-election. The governor stated that we live in highly partisan time and that this divisive environment will make it more difficult to find any bipartisan solutions.
Governor Perdue plans to use her remaining time in office to continue to fight for schools and school children stating that they cannot continue to be the victims of shortsighted legislative actions and severe budget cuts inflicted by a legislative majority with the wrong priorities.
