Romney Picks VP

By now you must have heard that GOP presidential nominee announced on Saturday that he has chosen US Congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate.

Ryan is said to be a rising star in the Republican Party mainly because he is known as a strong conservative leader.  He is also well known for what is called the "Ryan's Budget" that he put out in 2011.  The budget will change government funded programs such as Pell Grants to college students, Medicaid, change Medicare to a voucher program; increasing taxes on middle class families, and reduce taxes on Millionaires, among other things.  People in both parties state that the Ryan Budget will hurt the middle class because of the drastic cuts to "safety net" programs while To learn giving bundles to the rich.  In a debate with other GOP presidential last year former House Speaker Newt Gingrich referred to the Medicare overhaul in Ryan's budget proposal as "right-wing social engineering."  Recently Mr. Gingrich has apologized to Congressman Ryan and has retracted his description of the budget.  Nevertheless, the Ryan plan is bound to become a big part of the discussion as the candidates and voters head to the ballot box in the 2012 Presidential elections.

The presidential election is not in full campaign mode with Romney and his VP Ryan holding several campaign meetings in battleground states, Virginia, North Carolina, and in Ryan's home state Wisconsin, which the team is hoping to win.  President Obama, not to be outdone is also on the campaign trail back in his home state, Chicago among other states.
